What OEM and SP are

OEM (original equipment manufacturer) — a company that produces and manages units and takes the liability for resource constraints units.

SP (service provider) — a third-party company or a subunit of an OEM company that develops business services and applications that use cloud and edge computing.

AosCloud

  • Integration with third-party systems (CRM, ERP, etc.)
  • Deployment at on-premises data centers or private IaaS
  • Data monitoring for custom units

AosCore

  • Implementation of the ECU/TCU FOTA update process
  • Creation of unit data abstraction models for services
  • Implementation of SOTA updates for services and dependencies
  • Provision of system 
  • Provides system and service state monitoring data

Ways to interact with AosCloud

Interaction with AosCloud can be performed with:

  • API — AosCloud API is the main interface for working with AosCloud.
  • SDK tools — Aos SDK is a set of tools designed to simplify interactions with AosCloud, such as provisioning units and working with services.
  • GUI — a simple basic GUI used to simplify the usage of AosCloud API.

User roles

OEM User

OEM User is designed for original equipment manufacturer employees and automation processes. It provides the following capabilities:

  • Owning units​
  • Managing units​
  • Managing services on units​
  • Owning firmware​
  • Managing FOTA​
  • Managing update campaigns

SP User

SP User is designed for Service Provider employees and automation processes. It provides the following capabilities:

  • Owning services​
  • Rolling out service updates

Admin User

Admin User represents the administrator role for the whole AosEdge system. It provides access to a special part of the web portal with additional rights and enables the following capabilities:

  • Managing accounts​
  • Managing OEMs
  • Managing SPs

Billing Accounts

This entity is used for collecting billing information.

Internal Accounts

This entity is designed for internal service interaction.
